Information session planned for upcoming Tacoma course

Tacoma residents who are looking forward to their future are invited to come to the upcoming Environmental Job Training Orientation session and find out more about the program, and whether it is right for them.

Those who attend the event will be able to learn more about the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Environmental Workforce Development and Jobs Training initiative and how it can benefit them. It is free to register, and will cover an assortment of areas that can help someone with an interest in the field to secure employment.

The program is open to residents of Tacoma and Pierce County who are over age 18 with a high school diploma or the equivalent. They will also need to have a valid driver’s license, their own transportation, and meet other requirements that have been set by the organizers.

The event’s listing noted that those who complete the training may be able to find jobs in the contamination remediation, construction, or hazardous materials handling fields. It is being offered free of charge courtesy of the support of the EPA. Brochures and other informational materials for a session such as this can be sourced from a local printer.

The orientation session is mandatory for anyone who wants to participate in the program, and it will be held on December 19 in the Goodwill Milgard Work Opportunity Center. Additional details can be found on its website.
