Horology, which is the making of watches and clocks, can be a fun and rewarding hobby, and a Seattle session will offer a condensed version of a workshop series offered in New York.
The Horological Society of New York announced that it will be hitting the road for the West Coast, and it has a session on offer in Seattle that will combine its four introductory classes into one event. It will be facilitated by professional watchmaker Ben Bridge Jeweler, and tickets for this hands-on session are $550 each.
Those who register for the session will engage in hands-on learning, and they will be working with mechanical watch movements. They will study the gear train and how it functions, and the setting and winding mechanisms will also be introduced. Escapement is also on the agenda.
Learning a new hobby can be both fun and rewarding. Workshops provide individuals with the chance to do so, and promotional Pens, handouts, and other items for an education activity can be pressed by Print shops.
This introduction to the art and science of watch repair will be held on Saturday, September 28 at 1530 5th Avenue. It will begin at 9:00 am, and at the time of writing, seats were still available. The final date to reserve a seat is the Saturday before the event, September 21.
