The mild climate of the Pacific Northwest gives the region a jump start when it comes to edible plant gardening, and an upcoming sale will help local green thumbs take full advantage of this.
Seattleās Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands has invited one and all to be part of its upcoming March Edible Plant Sale, which will be well stocked with a variety of plant starts chosen because they can be planted out early.
People who stop by will be able to shop for a variety of edible options such as peas, lettuces, Swiss chard, onions, kale, and strawberries, as well as an assortment of heirloom vegetable varieties. The gourmands in the crowd will find edible flowers, herbs, purple scallions, and Romanesco-style cauliflower, and there will be many other options available. The shopping will be in-person only, and a list of what is expected to be on offer will be released ahead of time.
Plant markets tend to spring up all over during March and April, and many of them are organized by charitable groups and garden clubs. A printer can prepare budget-friendly Promotional Products to sell during a horticulture fundraiser.
The Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands will be rolling out the green carpet for its March Edible Plant Sale on Saturday, March 16, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. It is located at 5513 South Cloverdale Street in Seattle.
