Each year, millions of Americans battle against cancer, and a Seattle event will help them in their fight.
The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance will be the beneficiary of a water-filled fundraiser open to all ages, so long as they can swim. As it will offer an assortment of different distance choices, it can be enjoyed by people with a variety of levels of swimming skills, and volunteers are also needed.
Funds raised through this annual event are used to meet the cost of conducting clinical trials and other research into a variety of cancers, and since the activity first took place 12 years ago, several million dollars has been raised in support of the cause. Swimmers who sign up will hit the water at the Luther Burbank Swim Beach, and the activity will kick off early in the morning.
