The sea gives many treasures, and one of these will be the focus of a special event that will bring a touch of beauty to August.
The Sea Glass Festival is a celebration of this treasure from the ocean. Taking place at the Seattle Center, it will run for two days, and tickets may be purchased starting at $15 each.
The festival, which is being organized by the International Sea Glass Association, will bring together an eclectic group of artists and artisans. It will explore the history of genuine beach glass, and it will offer an opportunity to view the works created by a roster of artisans. There is also a schedule of workshops and guest speakers to enjoy, and a design competition and Collectors Showcase are both in the works. It will be a “sister” event to one being held at the Mystic Seaport Museum in Connecticut in July. A VIP ticket option is available, which comes with a special gift.
