Seattle enjoys water lantern celebration
This year, the Water Lantern Festival will visit Seattle for one night of floating lights and music.
This event features floating lanterns that attendees can draw on and customize, as well as food trucks and music. Although there is no list available for the food trucks, there will likely be multiple in attendance.
Doors will open at about 4:00 pm, and the food trucks will open and music will start at 4:30 pm. From 7:30 pm on, attendees will be able to decorate their lantern. Starting at 8 pm, lanterns will be set into the water and launched, where they will stay until the event ends at 10:30 pm.
This event is eco-friendly and environmentally conscious; the lanterns are all made of 100% wood and rice paper, making them biodegradable. After the event ends, staff clean not only lanterns from the water, but also other trash as well, helping to leave the area cleaner than it started.
Tickets are currently on sale, and come with one floating lantern, a souvenir bag, wristband, and marker. Ticket costs also cover the lantern retrieval after the event, with the bonus of clearing any trash or debris that may be in the water as well. Tickets are currently $30, but prices will increase as the event date nears.
Events like this often use banner printing in order to guide attendees to the correct location, or raise awareness of the event. It will be held on Saturday, October 12.
