Seattle nights will soon be filled with the calls of amorous amphibians looking for love, and a Seattle area session will introduce them to the public.
IslandWood’s Amorous Amphibians Nighthike has come to be an area favorite. It’s proven to be a sellout in previous years, so everyone interested is advised to “Hop to it” and secure their tickets now.
The activity will be split into two parts, and will open with a discussion on the native frog species, their calls and ecology. After this, it will be time to take to the trails so everyone can get some in-person experience with frogs, toads and salamanders that will be heading to local wetlands to lay their eggs. The activity is suited to those age 6 and up, and it can be good for families and individuals alike. There is an option for those who require an ADA accessible trail, and it's been requested that arrangements for this be made in advance. Flashlights are recommended.
Spring can be a time for growth and new life and many take advantage of the opportunity to learn about local wildlife.
