Seattle’s Mayor Ed Murray has given the names of the two cultural organizations and three individuals who have been selected to receive this year’s annual Mayor’s Arts Awards.
Those who were chosen include artist Akio Takamori, author Daniel James Brown, and Professor Robin K. Wright. The groups that will be honored are the Japanese-American history organization Debsho and JazzED, which is a local jazz education program.
The award is given out each year to recognize those who make significant cultural contributions to the city and surrounding area. These can take a variety of Forms that include increasing the public’s access to art and also preserving its artistic heritage for future generations to enjoy.
Nominations for the winners were contributed by the public. More than 400 were submitted, and from these, the final group was selected. A firm that provides printing services will be able to facilitate this process by printing Brochures to explain how the program works to the public, and also nomination Forms and promotional materials that can help get the word out about it.
The prizes will be presented to the recipients late this summer as part of the Bumbershoot opening ceremony. This is the annual arts celebration held to mark the end of the season and is scheduled to take place at the Seattle Center’s Mural Amphitheater on September 4.Get a Free Quote for Brochures Get a Free Quote for Forms
