An upcoming event will feature the sights, sounds, and tastes of the islands.
The Lynnwood Luau is a fun-filled event that is suitable for everyone. From 3.00 pm until 7.00 pm, booths where people can make candy leis will be available, and the Colors of Hawaii Gifts and Treasures will be open.
From 3.00 pm until 6.00 pm, Sunshine from Polynesia will be giving hula lessons, and free drum lessons. Sunshine from Polynesia is in Seattle, and offers classes in both Tahitian and Hawaiian hula, along with ukulele and drums.
Live music begins with STRUM performing from 3.45 pm until 4.30 pm, One Island Drop appears from 4.45 pm until 5.30 pm, and Your Loud Neighbors plays from 5.45 pm until 6.30 pm. STRUM calls themselves “Seattle’s Totally Relaxed Ukulele Musicians,” and One Island Drop plays covers as well as their own original music, plus rock, reggae island style, and more.
The finale is scheduled for 7.00 pm, featuring singers and fire performers from Sunshine from Polynesia.
The Lynnwood Luau is set for the District Plaza at the Lynnwood Event Center on 196th Street SW on August 17, from 3.00 pm until 8.00 pm. Admission is free, and anyone who enters by July 29 could win a VIP table that seats four, along with a gift bag, free drinks, and free appetizers. The VIP tickets can be purchased separately. Organizers who plan events like this often use poster printing to create colorful advertising for the occasion.
