Collectors anticipate Lynnwood convention

Sports memorabilia lovers should plan to be in Lynnwood soon.

The Washington State Sports Collectors Association has announced its annual convention, which is the longest-running show of its type in the nation. Collectors who are searching for rare sports-related items can meet dealers coming from throughout the country, bringing a huge array of items with them. Some specialize in vintage items while others concentrate on the modern era. They cover material from both major and minor baseball leagues, boxing, hockey, football, basketball, and more.

People from the local area will be especially interested in older items from Seattle organizations like the Seahawks, Sonics, the early Mariners, Rainiers, and the Pilots, but they are not the only historical items available. Vendors will have a sizeable selection of material that spans the years between Hall of Famer Ty Cobb, who spent most of his career with the Detroit Tigers from 1905 to 1926; and Luka Dončić, currently playing basketball with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The collectors’ event is scheduled for Saturday, June 6 at the Lynnwood Event Center, with VIP admission holders admitted early, from 9.00 am until 10.00 am, for $15. General admission is $5, and admission begins at 10.00 am. Children 12 years of age and under will be admitted free. Specialized events like this may benefit when organizers use flyer printing to create handouts to distribute locally, supporting the convention.
