Lynnwood embraces its inner geek

A special event for geeks is coming to Lynnwood.

GeekFest West - Game Expo – is an event designed for pop-culture lovers, using both the indoor and outdoor venues at the Lynnwood Event Center. The festival will cover 13 acres and span three days, each with a different theme.

Special areas include Geektopia, the Main Stage, and the Gadgeteers’ Galleria. Geektopia will be found in the event center and in THE DISTRICT complex. Geeks will enjoy board games and video game tournaments, a dedicated card game and board game area, workshops, and guest speakers.

The outside festival features the Gadgeteers’ Galleria, which is a street fair. There will also be facilities for Live Action Role Playing (LARP), wrestling, and an international food festival.

As noted, each day has a theme. The opening day is Friday, July 17, and the theme is “Bring a Date Day.” From 1.00 pm until 7.00 pm, attendees will have an opportunity to meet people and enjoy games, while from 8.00 pm until midnight is an AfterDark event aimed at adults.

Saturday, July 18 is devoted to “Cosmic Cosplay." From 10.00 am until 7.00 pm, attendees can learn about cosplaying and join a competition. From 8.00 pm until midnight, AfterDark takes over again, this time with D’n’D and a team event called The Amazing Race.

Finally, July 19 is Family Day. Everyone is welcome, with special activities planned for the littlest geeks. Colorful Posters advertising events like this are effective and can be found at Print shops.
