Lynnwood hosts green event

An upcoming event in Lynnwood will be a treat for gardeners and those who simply enjoy plants.

The 2025 Indoor Plant Festival is a two-day celebration of nature that is scheduled for the Lynnwood Event Center. The event includes classes, exhibitions, and the opportunity to purchase plants and is hosted by the Northwest Orchid Society, which is based in Seattle.

The exhibitors confirmed thus far are the Cascade Cactus & Succulent Society of Seattle; the Oregon Orchid Society, based in Portland, Oregon; the Pacific NW Branch of the American Begonia Society, which has members in both Seattle and Portland; the Mount Baker Orchid Society of Mt. Baker, Washington; and the Spokane Orchid Society of Spokane, Washington.

Growers will be on hand to sell plants of all kinds. Most are coming from Washington and Oregon, but some are coming from Montana, Georgia, and other countries including Ecuador, Taiwan, Thailand, and Peru. This will allow shoppers to find truly exotic varieties to take home.

Classes will also be part of the fun. Experts with various types of plants will be discussing the basics of caring for orchids, succulents and cacti, aroids, African violets and gesneriads, carnivorous plants and nepenthes, tropical begonias, and cold hardy carnivorous plants.
People attending festivals that highlight a special interest of theirs can take opportunity to collect Business Cards from the vendors for repeat purchases.

The festival takes place March 22 and 23 at the Lynnwood Event Center at 3711 196th Street SW.
