A special event will bring the islands to Lynnwood.
The Lynnwood Luau will feature Hawaiian food, dance, drumming, a Hawaiian shirt contest, and live music. The bands are STRUM, One Island Drop, and Your Noisy Neighbors.
STRUM, or “Seattle's Totally Relaxed Ukulele Musicians,” is based in Seattle. It is a group of ukulele players of all skill levels dedicated to having fun and bringing joy to audiences.
One Island Drop appears throughout Western Washington State, playing Hawaiian-style roots reggae music.
Your Noisy Neighbors is a percussion-centric band playing rock favorites throughout Washington State.
Another facet of the day is Kanikapita, which is a Hawaiian term for “jam session.” Attendees are invited to bring their own guitars or ukuleles and jam with STRUM. Organizers of timetabled events like this can use flyer printing to create a schedule for people attending.
The luau is scheduled for Saturday, August 16 at the District Plaza at the Lynnwood Event Center. The fun starts at 2.00 pm and ends at 8.00 pm. There are three sessions of VIP reserved seating – at 2.00 pm, 4.00 pm, and 6.00 pm. STRUM plays at 2.00 pm, Sunshine from Polynesia appears at 3.00 pm, Kanikapita takes place at 3.15 pm, One Island Drop starts at 4.00 pm, Your Noisy Neighbors plays starting at 5.00 pm, and the day winds up with a finale that includes fire dancing. Admission is free.
