Community fair awaits in Lynnwood

An event is coming up for everyone in Lynnwood who is interested in safety and health.

The Fair on 44th is returning in person in 2022. Organizers call the event Lynnwood’s “Health & Safety Community Block Party,” because the city closes 44th Avenue between 194th Street SW and 188th Street SW.

At the event, people will be able to tour and take photos with vactor trucks (vacuum trucks), SWAT and other police vehicles, ambulances, fire trucks, and more. Demonstrations are planned featuring the SWAT Robot and a police K-9 unit, and there will be tips on disaster preparedness and more.

Residents will be able to shred as many as three Bags of household papers on site, without charge. They will also be able to find out what Lynnwood is planning about light rail, new construction, and more.

Activities and games suitable for the entire family are planned, and attendees will be able to visit participating organizations for information on health, blood pressure, dental care, and much more. Over 50 organizations are participating. A partial list includes Aegis Living Lynnwood, Citrine Health, Navy Federal Credit Union, Sound Transit, and United Healthcare.

Various food trucks and vendors will provide fresh food. Thus far, the participating eateries are Seoul Hotdog, Kool Kidz Ice Cream, the Dancing Kitchen, and Chick-fil-A Alderwood.

The fair is scheduled for September 10, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. The event is free, but organizers could help attendees by using flyer printing to create handouts listing the vendors.
