A special event for and about women is scheduled for Lynnwood at the beginning of March.
The IWD Lynnwood Group and the Latino Educational Training Institute are the organizers of the upcoming Lynnwood’s International Women’s Day. Attendees will be able to listen to local female leaders discussing the theme “Embracing Equity.” The theme of the day was determined by the International Women’s Day organization, which operates nationally and worldwide.
Organizers want to encourage a conversation about how women in Lynnwood can build a more inclusive network and a stronger community using network connections. Attendees will receive an invitation to join the IWD2024 planning organization, where they can share their energy, skills, and ideas to make the 2024 celebration even more meaningful.
Special guests at this year’s event are Lynnwood Mayor Christine Frizzell, Dr. Sally Guzman, Dr. Jody Early, and Olympia Edwards. Mayor Frizzell can discuss her experiences as a member of the Sound Transit board and her work on the City Council, among other topics. Dr. Guzman has extensive experience as an educator, while Dr. Early is an Associate Professor at the School of Nursing and Health Studies at the University of Washington in Bothell. Rounding out the group is Olympia Edwards, the Founder and CEO of Project Girl-Lynnwood Mentoring Program, an organization to empower young women.
The women’s day activities will take place at the Lynnwood Library on Sunday, March 5 at 2.00 pm. Occasions like this that gather important people from the local area are the perfect place for like-minded people to exchange Business Cards.
