Watercolor festival scheduled for Federal Way

A venue in Federal Way will be hosting the Summer Watercolor Festival this August.

The festival is a community arts event designed to be immersive and to teach people about the art of painting with watercolor. The main event is a large-scale window mural that the community is invited to participate in creating.

There will be other activities besides the large mural. Throughout the center, hands-on creativity stations will teach participants about a range of techniques for creating art with watercolors. Some of them include drip art, blending colors, and resist painting. The goal is to teach people about creative freedom and the art of experimentation.

Whether visitors are creating for fun or hoping to come up with a new way to create a Logo Design, there is much to keep people busy.

Outside of watercolor art, guests will also find local vendors, live music performances, and interactive experiences. Because this event includes water-based activities, participants should expect to get wet. Additionally, vendor applications are available for muralists, food and beverage stalls, arts and craft vendors, and live performers. Those who set up booths at events like this may bring with them a stack of Business Cards.

Free access to the Summer Watercolor Festival is supported by AFFW and 4 Culture. The event will take place on August 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Event Center. This can be found at 31510 Pete von Reichbauer Way S in Federal Way.
