The Kickin’it FW festival, which celebrates the Soccer World Cup Series, is scheduled to be held in Federal Way this June.
Planning for the festival reportedly takes place from some 10 months prior to the event, with a coalition of sponsors, vendors, city planners, members of the community, and graphic design creatives who meet to share their expertise to produce the best festival they can.
This year’s Kickin’it FW festival promises to have something for people of all ages and persuasions, with food vendors, beer gardens, carnival rides and, of course, soccer on hand.
Avid soccer fans can take part in watch parties of FIFA World Cup 26th games, tournaments, and clinics. Tournament participants must register an hour before the games begin and are encouraged to wear a jersey imprinted with their favorite team’s name and Logo Design.
The festival, which is free, is funded by the Arts Foundation Federal Way. The three-day event will open on Friday, June 19 and close Sunday, June 21, and takes place at the Performing Arts and Event Center (PAEC). It is made possible by a grant from the City of Seattle.
One of the key organizers of both the planning meeting and the main event is Autumn Gressett, the Contract Administrator and Community Relations Liaison for the Parks Department Federal Way.
