Based in Québec, Canada FLIP Fabrique is a troupe of circus performers, much in the same style as the more-famous Cirque du Soleil. Acrobats, jugglers, and other performers in the small company, which has fewer than 10 members, put on the same kind of amazing show as their better-known colleagues.
The show coming to Federal Way is “Blizzard,” in which the members of FLIP Fabrique ask audience members to imagine a blizzard in which cold is everywhere, including inside people's homes and hearts, and question whether such a storm would be a disaster or a chance to start again. The performers use their relationship to each other, and their unique talents, to explore this idea. They note that each person is different from everyone else, the way no two snowflakes are the same.
One reviewer noted the theme of winter and cold is woven throughout, saying:
“Aerial straps duets like snowflakes, combining cradle and doubles trapeze type moves with the more usual straps fare; a tumble track of snow-day playground antics; tossing balls of the white stuff around on shovels until they form ordered juggling cascades.”
“Blizzard” is scheduled for January 24, from 8:00 pm until 11:00 pm, at the Federal Way Performing Arts & Event Center. Poster printing can be used to create beautiful advertisements for events like this.
