A new pain management clinic is now open in Federal Way, offering hope to those who have not been able to find relief from chronic pain using traditional medical means.
Genesis Regenerative Medicine is located on 333rd Street, and is the brainchild of Dr. David Velling, a pain management specialist. He has been helping patients for over 20 years at The Pain Center of Western Washington.
Dr. Velling says the first thing anyone needs to do is meet with him to determine which type of treatment is most likely to help, but he also says this consultation should take place only if traditional medical treatments have been unsuccessful. If cases like this, he is likely to start with a technique he calls platelet-rich plasma therapy (PRP therapy).
This is a non-surgical method that uses the patient's own blood platelets and plasma to help afflicted areas of the body heal. The typical patient for whom this treatment is successful are those who have acute, chronic pain from osteoarthritis or some sort of injury. Practitioners using complex methods like this can work with a brochure printing company to create a pamphlet explaining treatments.
If this non-invasive approach doesn't work, then it is possible to move on to treatments using stem cells, from adipose tissue, amniotic tissue, or bone marrow. Treatments can be expensive, but the clinic will work with patients to develop payment plans.
