Four days of classes in management techniques, leading to certification, are coming up in Federal Way.
The classes are a combination of Lean Six Sigma Green and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, which will result in certification. The two subjects are being combined and will include, among other offerings, three simulation, full-length tests, along with the answers. An instructor will explain the results so that people taking the actual examination will be successful.
Lean Six Sigma is a management method that seeks to improve overall performance by eliminating waste and reducing variation. It uses some of the principles of the “just in time” manufacturing method, where goods are delivered “just in time” to be used, rather than stockpiled, and identifies eight types of waste, including defects and overproduction.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt experts have grasped the basic concepts of Lean Six Sigma, and use them successfully.
The upcoming seminar includes an introduction to the concepts of Lean Sigma and Six Sigma, and explains the way they handle goals, and the idea of continual improvement. It also includes an examination of DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, control) methodologies, how Lean management works, and winds up with tips for passing the certification exam, and a feedback session.
The training will take place beginning December 8, at the Business Hotel in Federal Way. Print shops can help create materials necessary for events like this.
