An event that draws people from throughout the area is scheduled near Federal Way.
The Spring Fair is coming to the Washington State Fairgrounds in Puyallup, a short drive from Federal Way. The fair will have farm animals on display; musicians, clowns, stilt walkers, and jugglers strolling the premises; and various displays such as Brad’s World of Reptiles. Typical fair food, such as burgers and scones, will be available.
Health concerns mean that the fair will be conducted differently this year. The annual Daffodil Festival is the signature event in Puyallup, and the event culminates in the Daffodil Parade, which travels through various communities including Tacoma, Sumner, and Puyallup. This year, however, visitors will have the opportunity to drive past the floats, which will remain stationary. The farm animals will also be a drive-through event.
A shopping venue is planned, with strict health guidelines in place. Vendors will be located in the Mattress Firm ShowPlex, but the number of shoppers will be limited. Fair visitors should be aware they may have to wait to enter the building.
Snacks will be available from vendors in the “Grab & Go Treats,” which will be found in the Agriplex. Vendors in this area include Seattle Fudge, Butter Creek, and Marcoes Caramel Apples. Dock Dogs and Racing Pigs are also part of the fun and many other activities are also on the schedule.
The Spring Fair opens April 7 and ends April 18. Poster printing can provide colorful advertising for events like this.
