A popular Italian eatery is planning to open its fourth location in the area, this time in Federal Way.
Mama Stortini's Restaurant and Bar, which Stilson's Specialty Restaurant Group owns, has three other locations in the region: Puyallup, Kent, and Seattle.
Roger Stilson said he is opening in Federal Way because he believes his restaurant, which offers Pacific Northwest flavors as well as authentic Italian dishes, will be popular in the city. He goes on to say the Commons area is full of shopping, dining, and entertainment venues, and Mama's will fit in nicely, especially since it's locally owned and operated. Stilson said Mama's is a restaurant patrons can visit at any time they wish, and order whatever they like. The menu features classic Italian dishes created with ingredients from local sources. The restaurant will be comfortably and friendly, according to Stilson, with interior design featuring accents from the Pacific Northwest. The establishment will also have a bar with enough space for people to enjoy a snack, watch sports on television, and generally have fun.
Derek Stewart, who is Mama's director of food and beverages, said the menu leans toward Italian classics, but with a Northwest twist, all at an affordable cost.
Mama Stortini's should open its doors in May.
