This coming fall, the Federal Way area will be welcoming “bird nerds” , and it will be a weekend filled with feathery fun.
The Work Parrot Expo will be on offer in late September, and space has been reserved at Emerald Downs for the occasion. The event will cater to birds from tiny budgies to huge hyacinth macaws, and its listing pointed out that both the name and location will be new.
This expo will be filled with displays, vendor booths and learning opportunities, and there will be parrot care experts on hand sharing their knowledge. It will also include food service areas as well as a cash bar, and online, Goodbird and Superbird level registration options are available. A Saturday party is in the works, and the festivities will run for two days.
The charity of choice for the celebration is Flight Club Foundation, which gives “parrot people” a chance to learn from one another about how best to care for their birds, and it also engages in educational and advocacy work. The 2025 World Parrot Expo will be flying into the Federal Way area on September 27th and 28th. Tickets may be purchased through its website, which also includes an updated vendor list and other information.
