Federal Way to host confidential paper shredding event

A free paper shredding event for confidential documents is scheduled to take place in Federal Way this January.

Federal Way residents who have confidential papers to get rid of can bring their documents to the event to be safely shredded. A limit of three paper Bags or two file Boxes full of paper per person is allowed. Paper must be stored in the back or trunk of each person’s vehicle so that staff will be able to unload documents while visitors remain in their vehicles.

All papers must be confidential documents, as the event is not suited for magazines, Catalogs, or unwanted mail. Non-paper items are also prohibited. When notifying the public of similar community events, the organizers often post Flyers in frequently trafficked locations to remind passers-by as to event details and requirements.

Everyone who wishes to bring documents to the event must adhere to necessary health and safety rules and precautions in light of COVID-19. Anyone who has symptoms of illness, or a family member who is sick, is asked to wait until the next event. Those who take part must remain in their respective vehicles through the duration of the event.

The free document shredding event is set to proceed from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 23 outside of the South King Tool Library.
