Each year, salmon are caught off the shores of Washington state, and a special summer event planned for Federal Way will make the most of this bounty from the sea.
It is almost time for the 67th annual Kiwanis Salmon Bake. Tickets are available to the public online, and they may also be ordered through a Kiwanis member at the gate.
A Friday evening in late July will see Steel Lake Park welcome dinners for a meal prepared by Cafe Pacific. The menu will feature Alderwood grilled salmon with a maple rub, as well as sides including potato and Cesar salad. If enough corn is available, it will be served fresh on the cob, and rolls with honey butter will round out the meal. Wine and beer will be poured for the adults if they wish, with scoops of ice cream to be enjoyed as well.
The proceeds from this activity will help various causes supported by the Kiwanis Club. A poster printing company can craft effective marketing materials for many types of fundraising activities, helping to promote what is happening in the weeks before the event.
The 67th annual Kiwanis Salmon Bake is scheduled for Friday, July 28. The gates will open at 4:00 pm. The price per ticket will depend on which meal option is chosen, and donations are welcome.
