Federal Way home horticulturalists who adore rhododendrons are on the guestlist for an activity all about these popular flowering shrubs.
The team at the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden will be welcoming the return of its annual Summerfest, which will be a family-friendly celebration.
The organizers of the day have built a schedule that includes an art market, and at least four area artisans will be on hand. The plant collectors in the crowd may be able to score some rare rhododendrons and other plants in the Summer Clearance and Rare Plant Sale. Many of these specimens will be in three-gallon containers and ready to install. Larger shrubs will also be available. Admission to the Garden will be free, and Zaytoona Food Truck will be parked on site for anyone who would like to purchase lunch or a snack.
A horticulture market or similar activity may require specialized printing services such as the preparation of waterproof plant tags, printed pots, and custom designed T-Shirts or other clothing for the staff and volunteers. Print shops will be able to help.
