Federal Way festival to feature mystical flowers

The climate in the Pacific Northwest is well suited to growing rhododendrons, blue poppies, and other plants, and a festival planned for Federal Way will put them center stage.

The Himalayan blue poppy will serve as the centerpiece for a day held at the Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden. Everyone is welcome, and the venue is accessible to those who require the use of a mobility device.

The venue has set aside a day in mid-May for its Blue Poppy Day, and it is anticipated that these flowers will be in full bloom. The attendees can walk or roll along the ADA-accessible path or walk the meadow, and they may want to make sure their camera or phone is at hand so they can snap lots of pictures. The art market will be open, and everyone can enjoy the music and pay a visit to the food trucks.

Before they head for home, attendees can stock up on plants, including blue poppies, in the venue’s nursery. A brochure printing company can prepare plant tags, care sheets, and other materials for a special horticultural event like this.

This day planned in celebration of the mystical blue poppy is scheduled for Saturday, May 18. It will run from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at 525 S 336th Street in Federal Way.
