Federal Way festival to feature floral beauty

The climate and other growing conditions in Federal Way are well suited to growing various types of flowering plants, and one of these will be the stars of the show for a special horticultural event.

The Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden grows a wide number of species, one of which is the Himalayan blue poppy. The venue will be welcoming the public for its Blue Poppy Day, and it will greet spring in a special way.

The poppies are expected to be in full bloom during the festival day, and everyone who comes out can stroll through the two fields and admire their beauty. An ADA-accessible path makes sure everyone can be part of the experience, as it will allow those who require a mobility device to participate.

The listing for the activity pointed out that the organizers have created an extra perk for those who take part. They will each receive a free pass they can redeem for entry at a later date. The venue’s nursery will be open for business, for anyone who would like to purchase some plants.

Spring is a popular time of the year for horticulturally themed events. A poster printing company will be happy to lend a hand with the marketing side of the equation.

The Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden has scheduled this special occasion for May 20. It will be open from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.
