Federal Way families have been invited to be part of an event that will offer them a chance to get their feet wet when it comes to fishing, and it will be on offer at Steel Lake Park.
I’m Hooked will be a day of free fishing related activities for the whole family, and several local environmental organizations have joined forces to host the event. It will be held rain or shine, and along with learning opportunities for the anglers, the function will also explore health and wellness.
The plans for the day will include a fishing education station, and everyone can try their hand at shoreline fishing. The salmon life cycle will be explored, and there will be creative arts in the mix as well. There will be health and fitness information stations, and gear, including reels and rods, tackle, bait, ice, and personal flotation devices will be provided.
Families that take part in activities together can form a strong bond, and community gatherings provide a chance for them to do so. Poster printing companies can prepare materials that may be placed in prominent locations to help draw attention to an upcoming event.
The I’m Hooked introduction to family fishing is scheduled for Saturday, May 4. It will begin at 7:00 am, and any parents or guardians who would like to register can find more details on its event listing.
