Award-Winning Celtic band to rock Federal Way

Federal Way will host the Celtic rock group the Derina Harvey Band (dHb) next month.

The performance will take place at the Federal Way Performing Arts and Events Center (FWPAEC).

Hailing from Edmonton, Canada, the band has been described as a rocky version of the folk group Great Big Sea if they were fronted by Adele. The group’s musical style consists of unique takes on classic folk songs as well as their own original pieces. Songs among the former group include their cover of Tom Lewis’ “The Last Shanty.”

As for the performances, their shows have been reported as high-energy, with a frontwoman who uses humor and storytelling.

Having already blown through most of Canada through various performing arts circuits, the band is now looking to make a similar invasion into America. As they have already gained several positive reviews in Las Vegas and Orlando, as well as an award in Tacoma, the Federal Way show looks likely to be a hit too.

The performance will take place on Thursday, April 21 at 7:30 pm and the PAEC, which is at 31510 Pete von Reichenbauer Way S. Tickets will cost $28 and $33 and can be purchased on the PAEC website. Upcoming bands like the Derina Harvey Band may be interested in printing services to help with merchandise and promotion.
