Savannah Fuentes, celebrated for her skill in Flamenco dancing, will appear in Aberdeen, with Diego Amador, Jr., providing the live music. She tours the Pacific Northwest regularly.
Seattle native Savannah Fuentes is of Irish and Puerto Rican ancestry. She became fascinated with Flamenco dancing when she was a girl and watched a television program that featured a Flamenco performance. She says she felt connected to this art form immediately.
Fuentes also says she thinks of Flamenco as a lifetime study that began when she was a teenager and has continued ever since. Among the many Flamenco artists who have taught her are Eva Yerbabuena, Joaquin Grilo, and Guadiana. She notes that Maestra Sara de Luis has been her most important mentor.
Accompaniment for the dance will be provided by Diego Amador, Jr., a Seville native, who is a guitarist and Flamenco singer. He is a member of a family thought of as “Flamenco royalty.” Diego Amador, a famous Flamenco pianist, is his father, and the popular Flamenco band Pata Negra was founded by his uncles, Raimundo and Rafael Amador. Poster printing can be used to create colorful advertising for events like this.
A review of Fuentes’ performance says she offers:
“. . . real Flamenco, straight and stunning.”
The concert is set for June 21 at 8:00 pm at the Aberdeen Elks Lodge on South Boone Street. Only 70 seats are available.
