Norfolk families are invited to celebrate the return of a Halloween-themed event offered by the Virginia Zoo in October.
ZooBoo is an annual Halloween tradition where guests can visit the zoo to take part in various family-friendly activities. There will be areas for visitors to have photo ops, pop-up animal experiences throughout the attraction, and a place for picking mini pumpkins. Attendees can ride the on-site train for $2, and the facility’s gift shop and restaurant will be open during the festival. The event also has a virtual costume competition with prizes.
The Virginia Zoo will be making some changes to the program to ensure guests stay safe while having fun. Many of the activities will be contactless, and all children aged 2-12 will receive a pre-packaged candy bag instead of trick-or-treating. The environment will be socially distanced, and visitors are asked to wear a mask upon entering the zoo. Businesses with safety policies like this can use printing services to make Signs that reiterate their health-related procedures.
The program will occur on Saturday, October 23 and Sunday, October 24 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The time for the last entry into the zoo is 3:00 pm. Members of the Virginia Zoo can attend the activity for $6, while non-members will need to pay $18 for a ticket. Children under two will receive free admission.
