The Webb University Center in Norfolk will be holding a family-friendly robotics activity in July for people of all experience levels.
International NodeBots Day 2022 is a festival where children and adults can discover how to create and program robots by using JavaScript. There will be several types of machines guests may construct, including Sumobots, Soccerbots, and NodeBots. This year, the organizers are also bringing back NodeBoats as one of the available projects. The event will include Soccerbot matches and robot battles for different age groups.
NodeBots are machines that people can use JavaScript to manipulate. The idea behind the robots first came from Chris Williams, the creator of the node-serialport module. NodeBots meetups are organized throughout the world in countries such as Mexico, India, and Brazil. A few kits offered by the organization include the Johnny-Five Inventor's Kit and Arduino-based kits. Global groups like this may promote their gatherings by utilizing poster printing.
International NodeBots Day 2022 will take place on Saturday, July 30 from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm inside the Old Dominion University Webb Center Building. There is no cost to attend the robotics festival, though guests may give a donation to help fund the experience. All attendees will receive pizza for lunch and be given snacks in the afternoon. Companies interested in having their logos shown off during NodeBots Day can become a sponsor.
