Locals interested in interacting with community organizations and political figures can attend a civic fair this February at Norview High School.
Engage Norfolk 2020 is an event that allows people to meet with active members of their community while learning about their organizations and elected officials. Guests have an opportunity to interact with state delegates and senators. Members from the city council and schoolboard will also be attending the event. Many groups will be showcased at the civic fair, including the Norfolk Historical Society and the Virginia Beach Squad Rescue Foundation.
Attendees can also participate in various workshops held during the event. Councilwoman Andrea McClellan will have a presentation that informs people about the structure of their local government and educates guests on how to engage with the city. Experts will be holding another workshop that teaches locals how to mitigate flooding on their property. Organizations that participate in civic fairs like this can create Promotional Products to help increase positive relationships with the public.
Engage Norfolk 2020 will be held on Sunday, February 9 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The event is free for all attendees, though guests should register in advance. Those interested in becoming volunteers for the event can sign up to assist with tasks like setting up the civic fair and providing information to visitors.
