Creatives for Virginia will hold an event in Norfolk that will introduce creative business owners to the basics of running a successful business.
The Business of Creativity Workshop is a lesson where freelancers, digital creators, and performance artists can learn how to grow their businesses from experienced instructors. The workshop will teach attendees how to develop clear strategies for their businesses and improve their efficiency by streamlining their processes. Other topics covered in the class include hiring staff members and the basics of budgeting. Those at the workshop will also have a chance to network with other students.
Creatives for Virginia is an organization that aims to uplift people with artistic talents and foster their professional growth. The group advocates for the needs of creative business owners and promotes equitable access to the arts. The organization launched its Changemaker Residency Program in 2023 to provide designated workspaces for those who nurture local culture, such as Tremaine Etheridge, Keena Carson, and Dr. Sheetal Ajmani.
The workshop for creative business owners will be held on Thursday, August 1st from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Tickets to the lesson can be bought for $25. All participants in the course must register in advance. Local organizations holding similar educational experiences for business owners may use flyer printing services to advertise their workshops throughout their communities.
