Norfolk hobby store to offer candy making classes

Wine & Cake Hobbies in Norfolk will be holding two candy making courses in December for children and adults.

The Holiday Candy Making Class is a program where students are given step-by-step instructions for making festive treats. One class will be exclusively for children, while the other lesson is only for adults. The kid-focused course will teach students how to make holiday pretzels, hot cocoa bombs, and Oreo cookie treats. Adults can learn to make recipes such as cherry cordials, hard candies, and butter brickle sandwiches.

Wine & Cake Hobbies was founded in 1973 and was originally known as the Virginia Winemaker Supply. The business sells a wide variety of kitchen and decorating supplies, such as cake stands, honey dispensers, and handheld blenders. Many courses for baking beginners are taught by the company each year on subjects like cookie decorating, creating flowers from gum paste, and making rolled fondant for cakes. The store also offers wine making lessons.

The holiday candy making program for adults will be held on Saturday, December 3 from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm and will cost $49 per student. The children’s version of the event will be on Saturday, December 17 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and will cost $39. Businesses that offer cooking classes such as this may promote their food-related lessons by using flyer printing.
