Norfolk garden to celebrate end of summer

The Norfolk Botanical Garden will be holding an event in August where children can enjoy various activities.

The WOW End of Summer Celebration is a family-friendly activity where kids can explore the Children’s Garden at the Norfolk Botanical Garden. There will be plenty to do at the program, like playing games and working on arts and crafts projects. Families may even arrive early to the event to play in the venue’s fountains. The event is intended for kids ages three and above. The activity will be open to members and non-members of the botanical garden.

The Norfolk Botanical Garden was created in 1938 by Frederic Heutte and Thomas P. Thompson as a place where the community could grow azaleas and other plants. Many activities are held at the garden, including group kayaking outings, photography classes, and outdoor yoga sessions. Those who become a member of the botanical garden will receive free admission to the venue, invites to special events, and a subscription to the garden’s magazine.

The summer celebration will be held on Friday, August 25 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The cost to attend the program for members of the Norfolk Botanical Garden will be $10 per child and $5 per adult. Non-members must pay $15. Attractions that hold events like this may use flyer printing to promote their fun activities to others.
