Norfolk enjoys a taste of the South

Locals can visit Downtown Norfolk to enjoy a delicious event from Festevents.

The 3rd Annual Ribtoberfest and Southern Foodways will offer guests Southern food, live music, and a beer garden. Award-winning vendors and more than 10 barbecue chefs will be on site. There will also be both a 'sassy sauce bar' and a bourbon bar.

Jackie Scott and the Homewreckers, Bobby ‘Black Hat’ Walters, the Micheal Clark Band, and Bryan Dunn will make up the live entertainment.

The craft beer garden will feature more than 20 local and regional breweries, including the Angry Orchard Cider Company, the Boston Beer Company, and the Hardywood Park Craft Brewery. Adults must bring a valid ID to purchase beer.

Banner printing was likely used to direct attendees to various vendors and the beer garden. Sponsors' names and logos are often included on event Banners.

While the event is free to the public, there is a $20 package that includes a souvenir glass and 10 sampling tickets. Individuals who purchase the package will be given a wristband. Some of the event’s proceeds will go to help The Up Center, a nonprofit organization that helps improve the lives of families and children in need.

It all takes place on September 26 from noon until 8:00 pm at Town Point Park, which is a seven-acre space on the waterfront.
