Smartmouth Brewing Company in Norfolk will be putting a scary twist on the holiday season with a Krampus-themed event.
Krampusnacht is an annual event where people can enjoy a chilling take on typical seasonal festivities. The family-friendly program will work with the Otzi Tattoo Agency to introduce attendees to Krampus and the Bavarian folklore behind the legend. Many performances will be held during the event from groups such as Mr. Fang and the Dark Tones, Mosquito Cabernet, and Dumb Waiter. The sponsor for the program is WHRO Public Media.
Smartmouth Brewing Company is a business that began in 2012 by Porter Hardy. The head brewer of the organization is Jimmy Loughran. The brewery participates in the Virginia Green program to help reduce its environmental impact by lowering the company’s solid waste, recycling, and decreasing its reliance on disposable food service products. Each barrel produced by the organization contributes $3 to local nonprofits. Ghost Kitchen is the company’s permanent on-site food truck.
The Krampus-themed activity will be held on Saturday, December 10 from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm. No registration is required to attend the brewery’s program. Well-behaved dogs are allowed at the business as long as they are on a leash. Brewing companies that organize seasonal events such as this may use Print shops to make advertisements that attract locals to their activities.
