Month-long festival has plenty to offer

The Wearable Arts Festival is taking place at several venues in Norfolk for most of next month. It is presented by the d'Art Center.

The first event that will take place on April 2 is the opening reception for the juried national competition, named ‘Any portmanteau in a storm’. It will be held at the d'Art Center Gallery from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Other events during the festival will be a Duct Tape Smackdown at The Plot and ‘Sketch in and Shoot Out’ at the Chrysler Museum of Art and featuring the Todd Rosenlieb Dancers.

The d'Art at NATOFest event on April 23 at Town Point Park is part of the NATO Festival. The festival features a parade of nations, multicultural vendors and live entertainment. The center will be showcasing and selling arts and crafts throughout the day. For more information about this event, call 757-282-2801.

The celebration will finish off with the Grand Finale Costume Parade at MacArthur Mall.
