Local center celebrates the holidays

The MacArthur Center in Norfolk is holding several events this winter to celebrate the coming Christmas holidays. There are set to be plenty of activities for both children and adults.

The Winter Carnival began last month and is continuing until next month. It features seven rides for people of all ages to enjoy, including a 20-foot slide, a Ferris wheel, spinning teacups, and the Rio Grande Train. Tickets for rides are $1.25 each, $25 for 25 or $40 for 50.

This Saturday, December 12, families can enjoy the second breakfast with Santa in the California Pizza Kitchen from 8:00 am to 9:30 am. Tickets are $8 for adults and $7 for children. Call 757-314-4402 to find out more.

Children and their parents can also take part in the Storytime Cookie Exchange from Barnes & Nobel Storytime Friends on December 15 and 16 at 10:00 am. Guests are encouraged to bring cookies to exchange with others.

There are several more activities taking place throughout the month. To make sure as many people know about them as possible, organizers may invest in flyer printing services from Norfolk printing companies.

The Winter Carnival is taking place at the MacArthur Center on select days until January 18; the hours also vary from day to day. For more information, call 757-627-6000 or visit the MacArthur Center website.
