This June, the city of Norfolk, Virginia will be holding its 43rd annual Harborfest.
Harborfest is an event that celebrates maritime activities, giving attendees a chance to see extravagant ships while experiencing entertainment on both land and water. People can participate in the Build-a-Boat Challenge, where several teams design and race handmade vessels, or take a course at the Defiant Crew Pirate School. There will also be a fireworks display and a drone show that takes place on the Elizabeth River.
Visitors to the event can enjoy a variety of musical performances, including artists such as Lonestar, Oak and Ash, and the Mike Proffitt Band. Harborfest will also feature an escape room from Neon Entertainment, the Shadow Players Combat Group, and body marbling. Each year, the Harbor Gallery uses poster printing services to create Harborfest-themed items people can purchase as decorations.
The event will take place from June 7 to 9. Harborfest will be open from 12:00 noon to 11:00 pm on Friday and Saturday, while Sunday’s hours will be from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The festival has no fee to enter, though attendees can bring money to participate in any activities or purchase food from vendors. There will be preferred viewing tickets that people can buy for $10 to get a better view of the Light up the Night performance.
