Valentines Day event pops up in Manassas

As part of its Hylton Presents series, the Hylton Performing Arts Center will be offering a special concert this month to help Manassas locals and others in the surrounding area celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Titled ‘Valentine’s Day Pops’, it will feature the American Festival Pops Orchestra, with a special emphasis on love, laughter, and human relationships.

Those considering attending should note that the center has been decorated to reflect the passion that Valentine’s Day evokes, and that the entire place has dedicated itself to romance. The American Festival Pops Orchestra has put together a special program for just this one night, which will feature love songs from movies and tunes from the Great American Songbook.

Musicians in the orchestra come from D.C., Virginia, and Maryland, and are brought together by founder and artistic director Anthony Maiello. Attendees may wish to bring digital Business Cards with them to exchange with other patrons.

The newly built center is the result of a concerted effort by multiple government and academic entities and generous donations by those in the community. In addition to two theaters, it also boasts a museum.

The performance will be given on Saturday, February 14, at 8:00 pm in Merchant Hall at the Hylton Performing Arts Center, 10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas. Tickets price range from $29 to $48.
