For the 10th year, Historic Downtown Manassas will once again be holding its annual spring cleaning day event in honor of Earth Day.
The event has recently been renamed the Live Well Festival. It will be free and family oriented, with more than 3,000 people are expected to attend.
Attendees can get free fitness classes and health screenings. Children will be able to enjoy eco-friendly art and crafts activities. Guests can bring gently used items to donate to a worthy cause.
Local civic and nonprofit organizations will have representatives on hand to disseminate environmental and recycling information. Exhibitors will also include businesses and organizations that specialize in recycling and the environment. Entertainment will include bedrock YOGA, Curves, Master Gardeners, Southern States: Preparing for the Growing Season, and Lou Rosgen.
This year, the Shredding Truck will be relocated to the West Street Train Depot parking lot. The traffic pattern will have participants entering the parking lot from Prince William Street and leaving on Battle Street.
Tickets will be available for a farm-to-table brunch that will be prepared by C.J. Finz’s own Chef Will Landay.
Everyone will want to be sure to mark their Calendars for Saturday, April 16. The event will start at 9:00 am and go until 2:00 pm at the Harris Pavilion, 9201 Center Street, Manassas. Although the event will be free, guests will want to bring money for food.
