Three Manassas music events held on same evening

Virginia Women and Family Support Center will be holding its Jazz on the Lawn, Freedom Museum will have a Sock Hop, and Downtown Manassas will present its Battle Street Live all on the same evening in mid-September.

Guests attending Jazz on the Lawn will enjoy light bites and wine while watching the sun set and listening to live jazz presented by Black Market. Tickets are $75 and may be purchased online.

Jazz on the Lawn will take place September 21 from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm at 14019A Glenkirk Rd, Gainesville, VA 20155.

On the same evening, The Freedom Museum's Step Back in Time: Third Annual Sock Hop will begin at 5:00 pm. Guests can boogie, enjoy dinner, and enter a hula hoop contest. There will be a trivia contest, silent auction, and a photo booth. The best sock-hop-dressed attendee will receive prizes.

Winners in best-dressed contests like this often take pictures of themselves in their winning attire to local Print shops to be included in family newsletters

The annual sock hop will be at the Knights of Columbus, 9290 Stonewall Road, and will raise funds for the Freedom Museum.

Other local music lovers will be heading to Downtown Manassas to enjoy the weekly outdoor Battle Street Live. The band for the evening will be Dr. Pocket and the Fellowship of Funk.
