Greater Manassas St. Patrick’s Day Parade sponsor, Inisfail, the local chapter of Ancient Order of Hibernians, has announced the mid-March date for this year’s parade.
Along with the usual groups of civic groups, local organizations, and businesses, other parade entrants that will bring the traditional Irish flair will include the Boyle School Irish Dance, the local Phoenix Irish Dance Academy, The City of Alexandria and the City of Winchester Pipes and Drums corps, and the Notre Dame Alumni Band of Washington DC.
The parade route will begin Near Old Town Manassas at the intersection of Quarry Road and Prescott. It will then proceed onto Center Street where it will go to West Street. There, the procession will cross the street in front of the reviewing stand at the intersection of West and Center Streets and disband at the Harris Pavilion entrance.
Spectators are advised to find their streetside locations about an hour before the parade starts. Candy and giveaways must be handed out and not thrown, so little ones will want to be located right at the edge of the street.
Parade marshals in yellow Vests will be directing both parade participants and spectators.
Each Chief ($1,000), Pipe Band ($500), and General Parade ($375) sponsor must get their full-color Logo Design to the organizers as soon as possible to get it included in the parade poster printing.
The 2022 Greater Manassas St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place March 12, starting at 11:00 am.
