Manassas the place to bee this month

The 2nd Annual Manassas Bee Festival, hosted by Patron Councilwoman, Theresa Ellis, and the City of Manassas Beautification Committee, has been scheduled for late June.

Thousands of guests are expected to attend the festival, which has been created to call attention to saving bees and pollinators.

Liberia House and Grounds will be buzzing with bee activities, including a petting zoo, bounce house, yoga on the lawn, and a waggle dance. There will be talks, live apiary beehive demonstrations, acoustic guitar, and other live music artists. Attendees are invited to dress in their best pollinator outfits and enter the costume parade. Confident spellers will want to enter the spelling bee. Food trucks will be on hand selling honey-themed treats and the venue will feature creative and unique craft vendors.

Visitors at events such as this often gather Business Cards from those vendors selling items they particularly enjoy.

Those over 21 may enjoy trying honey-made mead in the Mead Garden, and guests may also go on Liberia House tours. Native plants will be available for purchase, as will T-Shirts sporting the Bee Festival graphic design. Local honey will also be for sale.

There are still opportunities for vendors, sponsors, activity presenters and volunteers to sign up for the festival.

The 2022 Manassas Bee Festival is scheduled for Saturday, June 25 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Liberia House and Grounds, 9601 Portner Avenue.
