The Manassas community will get the opportunity to begin their holiday season by attending the 30th Santa Lights Manassas tree lighting and the Greater Manassas Christmas Parade - both coming in early December.
Santa Lights Manassas will have free wagon rides, visits with Santa, ice skating at the pavilion, museum visit opportunities, dining at nearby restaurants, and shopping.
Holiday music performances will begin the festivities at 5:15 pm in Downtown Manassas on the Museum Lawn Stage. Santa will arrive at the Manassas Depot on the VRE train, and the tree lighting will begin at 6:30 pm. Santa will head for the TD Bank Santa Tent at 6:45 pm. He will stay until the last child has had an opportunity to sit on his lap.
The next morning more than 100 units including floats, marching bands and huge high-flying balloons, vehicles, equestrians, dance companies and cheerleading squads will be marching through Historic Downtown Manassas in this year's 78 Annual Greater Manassas Christmas Parade. This year's theme will be "Christmas in Candyland".
Since all units are required to carry Banners or signage in front of them for identification, many will probably be getting some banner printing done soon.
Sponsorships still available include those for marching bands, balloons, volunteer reception, elves' accommodations, judges' reception breakfast, supplies, and Friday night wagons and activities.
The parade will step off at 10:00 am, December 7th, in Historic Downtown Manassas at Harris Pavilion, 9201 Center Street.Get a Free Quote for Banners
