Fall is on its way and Manassas will have lots of outdoor options for the first weekend in September.
On Saturday morning, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s 30th annual 5K Walk – Great Strides- will have participants getting up early limbering up and heading for Harris Pavilion, 9201 Center Street. Check in will begin at 9:00 am with the walk beginning at 10:00 am.
Although the event will be free, walkers can raise funds for the cause. The goal for this year is $65,000. Teams are encouraged to participate and one has already raised over $7,000 so far.
After the walk everyone can head over to the Manassas Museum Lawn, 9101 Prince William Street for the 9th Annual Bands, Brews and Barbecue beginning at noon.
Guests can get tickets from $15 for no-taster tickets, and $50 tickets for taster tickets. The taster tickets are for guests over 21 and will include a souvenir tasting glass with the event Logo Design and wristband.
Registration for the Cornhole tournament will begin at noon and competition will start at 1:30 pm. Everyone is encouraged to bring a partner and compete for prizes.
Bands on the schedule will include Swim in the Wild, Harlem Simple and Mojo Mothership.
These events will be Saturday, September 7th. The walk will be from 10:00 am until 1:00 am and the Bands Brews and Barbecue will be from noon until 6:00 pm.
