Manassas looks forward to annual jazz festival

The 16th Annual Manassas Jazz Festival will be in town in mid-June.

The event will feature live jazz and Virginia craft beer, wine and spirits. Patrons are encouraged to bring their blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the afternoon’s jazz performances.

Three kinds of tickets are available. The non-taster tickets for those just coming to hear the music will be $25. Taster tickets that include admission, souvenir tasting glasses sporting this year’s festival Logo Design, and tastings from all the beverage vendors will be $45 online and $45 on event day. The VIP Experience Taster Ticket that will cost $115 online and $130 on event day will have all the benefits of the Taster Ticket plus entrance to the VIP tent. The VIP tent will have free seating, a catered buffet, and exclusive beverage tastings.

Entertainment from noon until 1:45 pm will be Fairfax Swing Jazz. This 20-piece ensemble plays the big band sound from the 1940s as well as jazz numbers on contemporary charts.

Saxophonist, educator and composer Dave Wilson and his new Dave Wilson Quartet will take the stage from 2:15 pm until 4:00 pm. Wilson has been wowing audiences with his alto and soprano sax prowess over the last 20 years, with improvisation a big part of his work.

Manassas Jazz Festival will be June 19 from noon until 7:00 pm at the Manassas Museum 9101 Prince William Street.
